Hey, did I mention that travelling is my true love (see the homepage). So are the maps ... and pretty much everything related to them. As a kid, I would be staring at colorful maps all the time. Especially, I liked the ones with embedded images - that was developing my fantasy.
How does it connect to the IT? Well, that is quite simple. During the last year of my studies, when I was writing my master thesis, I had to dive into the subject deeply. My master thesis was about the creative use of XML-enabled database systems. My promoter was very much involved in the GIS environment. He wanted me to build a GIS catalog system based on the INSPIRE specification. I had to start utilizing various map systems, and that is how I hooked in :)
